Advisor, Resource Mobilization and Advocacy
Join us and help shape sustainable financing and strategic partnerships for health emergencies in the Americas
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) , Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO) , is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and resultsoriented professional to serve as Advisor, Resource Mobilization and Advocacy . This position plays a critical leadership role in advancing advocacy, communications, and resource mobilization efforts to strengthen health emergency preparedness, response, and recovery across the Region.
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Health Emergencies , and the general guidance of the Director, External Relations and Partnerships (ERP) , the selected candidate will:
Coordinate advocacy, communications, and resource mobilization functions for the Health Emergencies Program.
- Provide strategic, policy, and technical advice on the development and implementation of resource mobilization strategies, including for emergency operations.
- Lead and facilitate the resource mobilization business process to increase voluntary contributions and diversify sustainable funding sources.
- Build and strengthen networks and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, UN entities, and other partners.
- Guide the development of media strategies and proactive communications to promote the work and achievements of the Health Emergencies Program.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and performance management for supervised staff, fostering a collaborative and learningoriented work environment. Education A bachelors and masters degree in a health or social science, public administration, public relations, economics, international relations, business administration or a related discipline from a recognized university. Experience Nine years of combined national and international experience in external relations, including communications, and resource mobilization/fundraising in development cooperation organizations, nongovernmental organizations, private sector organizations or corporations including financial institutions. Languages Fluency in English or Spanish with a working knowledge of the other language. IT Skills Demonstrated ability to effectively use current technology and software, spreadsheets and presentations as well as enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and management information systems. Other IT skills and knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Drive, Teams, SharePoint and Outlook are considered essential. Knowledge of other software programs such as Visio and Project would be an asset. Competencies and Skills For a complete list of competencies and skills, please refer to the post description . - Strong negotiation, diplomacy, and stakeholdermanagement skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including drafting highlevel reports and persuasive documents.
