Summary of Responsibilities

Connection & Belonging

Design and steward communication practices that help cultivate a cohesive network identity and culture of belonging.

Listen deeply across nodes to surface themes, concerns, and inspirations, and reflect them back through communication and storytelling.

Create and hold safe, inclusive spaces for cross-node dialogue, learning, and relationship-building.

Initiate, support and collaborate with network management teams to foster node-node engagement and spaces for connection and enhancing the sense of belonging across Ipas.

Network Communications

Advance the internal communications assessment plan in collaboration with the NetCARE team, KM Working Group, and network management teams, helping enhance the networks internal communications approach.

Shape the teams overall internal communications approach to support trust, clarity, and shared sensemaking.

Lead or codesign team communication materialsprototyping, iterating, and ensuring they are intuitive, user-friendly, and visually clear.

Produce accessible, human-centered written content that reflects our shared leadership values.

Curate and uplift stories, insights, and experiences from across the network to strengthen connection and belonging.

Support smooth, equitable information flows across nodes and network teams.

Routinely assess and evaluate network communications, channels, and practices to surface gaps and needs.

Community Engagement & Network-Wide Convening

Co-design and host virtual gatherings such as Netizen meetings, community conversations, and learning sessions.

Support facilitators and leaders in creating engaging, inclusive, and participatory virtual spaces.

Introduce communication rhythms, rituals, and tools that strengthen cohesion.

Strategic Communications Partnership

Serve as a strategic partner to network management teams on how to communicate with connection, clarity, and authenticity.

Provide guidance on communication approaches that support shared leadership, mutual accountability, and transparency.

Knowledge Management & Learning Synthesis

Contribute to NetCARE team and network knowledge management efforts, helping improve team efficiency, strengthen knowledge-sharing practices, and support network-wide learning and sensemaking.

Facilitate and lead the collection, synthesis, and dissemination of case studies and best practices to strengthen network learning and highlight innovation across nodes.

Support learning synthesis from internal learning events, workshops, and meetings, distilling key themes, patterns, and opportunities for continued improvement.

Maintain and disseminate knowledge across shared platforms (Luna, SharePoint, Teams), ensuring information is organized, accessible, and consistently updated.

Network Caretaking (Shared Team Functions)

Contribute to broader NetCARE responsibilities including network processes, strategic learning, and knowledge management.

Surface insights, patterns, or risks emerging in communication flows, and support aligned action.

Model the relationship-centered behaviors foundational to shared leadership.

Position Requirements

Skills & Capabilities

Strong knowledge of leading practices in internal communications and change management impacts.

Strong communication skills across cultures, with a talent for relational writing and resonance-focused storytelling.

Facilitation support skills, including planning, co-hosting, and designing inclusive, engaging virtual and in-person gatherings.

Ability to work confidently and diplomatically with senior leaders across the network.

Strong listener and sensemakerable to identify themes and insights and translate them into clear, meaningful communication.

Able to manage multiple communication channels without defaulting to transactional or corporate tone.

Passion for strengthening organizational culture and productivity and building community.

Advanced skills with technology/software for producing internal communications and hosting virtual webinars and desire to continually grow technological knowledge and capacity.

57+ years in communication, facilitation, community engagement, or network weaving roles.

Experience engaging organizational leadership in consultative or facilitative capacities.

Experience working in culturally diverse, global or networked organizations

Preferred Skills

Graphic design skills for creating accessible and engaging communication materials.

Audio/video editing and messaging capabilities to support storytelling, highlight network experiences, and enhance virtual engagement.

Familiarity with behavior change communication and change management concepts.

Familiarity with shared or horizontal leadership practices is helpful.
