The Adult Education Supervisor implements education programming for adults served by the IRC in Dallas. The supervisor oversees the adult education programs, leads a team of staff, manages overall quality assurance efforts and reporting, and develops effective working relationships with community partners and universities.

Responsibilities

Resource Development and Managemnent:

Supervise, coach, and support the development of education team members in accordance with IRCs People Manager Standards.

Hold minimum of biweekly 1:1 meetings and trainings for staff

Provide career development and learning opportunities to staff to build the service delivery leadership strengths of all within the department.

Conduct regular and timely case file reviews and class observations with team members; Ensure compliance with case file documentation and reporting requirements

Ensure compliance with requirements of the program, including IRC policies and procedures, donor guidelines, and relevant federal and state regulations

Assist with funding proposals for the departments programs to ensure the continuous delivery of services and monitor program and grant budgets

Program Development and service delivery:

Create and monitor adult education classes, including coordination of class schedules, enrollment and registration, pre- and post-testing, volunteer training and supervision, curriculum development and instructional quality.

Collaborate with program staff on adult education curriculum development and instruction delivery.

Identify and engage with relevant community partners and universities to support IRCs education and learning program.

Liaise with other department coordinators and supervisors to ensure adequate and timely delivery of services

Evaluate and improve Adult Education programs monitoring and evaluation tools and systems to track clients, program progress, and program material inventory and material distribution.

Assist with preparation of relevant funder reports related to adult education and training programs offered by IRC

Participate in IRC network-wide initiatives to understand and share best-practices relating to adult education, cultural orientation and continuing education/job training.

Evaluate the potential acquisition and use of edtech tool and digital resources for program use.

Volunteer Supervision:

Orient, train, and supervise volunteers and interns to support education and learning programs for youth and adults, in coordination with youth program staff member

Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to develop and maintain relationships with university and community partners for volunteers and intern

Requirements:

College degree or additional related experience may substitute for required education

Minimum of two years teaching experience (with adults) required, preferably with English language learners

Experience working with adult learners from a variety of cultural and linguistic groups highly desired

Experience designing student-centered, thematic-based curriculum and developing monitoring and evaluation systems highly desired

Program and people management experience

Creativity and initiative to independently lead projects

Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to lead workshops for groups of students

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Google Classrooms

Comfortable accompanying program staff on home visits

Ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Cultural sensitivity/ excellent cross cultural communication skills

Proficiency in Burmese, Kiswahili, Arabic, Dari, Kinyarwanda, or other relevant languages highly desirable

Working Environment:

Standard office work environment combined with considerable time in the field and in neighborhoods where clients live and work.

Classes will take place online via Zoom, in the IRC office, and offsite.

Travel in and around Dallas/Ft. Worth to facilitate service delivery, build community relationships and represent the IRC with community partners.

Hours outside of typical office hours required at times.

Compensation: ( Pay Range: $60,700 – $63,500 ) Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
