JOB PURPOSE
This position will manage special projects by leading and/or coordinating the planning, designing, implementing, and reviewing phases of assigned projects. This includes driving and monitoring these projects to ensure they are delivered within agreed time frames, budget and quality expectations. This also includes understanding, engaging, and managing diverse stakeholders to achieve proper design, and completion of the improvement projects.
This role will contribute to the team planning activities by providing review and challenge to ensure appropriate rigor in decision making, risk management, status reporting, and follow up.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support, manage and/or lead Concept Design or Project Initiation phase
Identifies opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce pain points or save on expenses.
Research market best practices for policies and processes as well as the market for new technology or services which may be applicable to World Vision
Develops relationships with stakeholders in the business to understand their processes, pain points and potential improvements
Write Business Case/Proposal/Budget/CPORT
Support, manage and/or lead Definition & Planning phase
Understands business requirements and processes
Develops and maintains a broad range of relationships across the organization to understand their processes, needs and pain points as well as to influence and educate the business on each segments/teams processes, needs and pain points
Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders
Support, manage and/or lead the Execution Performance and Control phase
Agrees on current state processes with stakeholders
NEGOTIATES agreement on future state processes with stakeholders (i.e. running workshops)
Manages the project with regards to budget, time, milestone delivery, communications plan, risk register, etc.
Defines project governance
Identification of business improvement opportunities
Networks with the business to identify pain points and potential improvements
Researches pain points/improvements and creates CPORT/Business Case where required
Prioritizes improvement opportunity taking into consideration value of opportunity, organization environment and strategic goals
Analytical insight, support and leadership
Responds to information requests from the team
Undertakes ad hoc data mining and analysis to provide meaningful insights
Critiques project reports, including Business Cases, Status Reports and Post
Assist the Director of FPRA-Field Offices as needed
Participate in projects, initiatives and meetings/conferences/working groups and exercises leadership and influence in the broader finance team
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
University degree in business, management, finance or accountancy
4-5 years managerial experience preferably in a non-profit or development organization or the like
4-5 years’ experience with data management, project financial reporting, analysis
Proven ability to understand and lead improvements in complex processes.
Proven ability to form and nurture partnerships and work together with stakeholders who may have competing objectives
Substantial experience influencing and working through other people, including workshop and meeting facilitation skills
Substantial experience managing projects
Ability to identify and manage politically sensitive issues
Extensive and advanced knowledge in financial/management accounting and reporting
Must have excellent communication skills in written and oral English
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
Qualified accountant CPA or CA
Post graduate qualification
Qualification in project management
Familiarity with PMBOK, Six Sigma, PRINCE2, Agile or other project management framework experience preferred
Proven knowledge and understanding of World Vision accounting and finance environment
Advanced knowledge and background on PowerBI, dashboards, and other business intelligence applications.
For positions filled in the United States, the typical salary range for this role is $70,000 to $80,430 USD. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience and geographic location.
