Wahana Visi Indonesia is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to work and collaborate to empower the most vulnerable children, family and community through community development, advocacy, and emergency response for sustainable transformation regardless of religion, race, ethnic or gender.

Since 1998, Wahana Visi Indonesia has carried out various community development programs focusing on children. Hundred thousands of children in Indonesia have been benefited from WVIs accompaniment program. Wahana Visi Indonesia is a trusted partner of World Vision International.

Key Responsibilities :

The GEDSI & CP (Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion and Child Protection) Officer provides technical support to ensure that all components of the KREASI program implemented by partners integrate the principles of gender equality, disability inclusion, social inclusion and child protection into the KREASI program. The GEDSI & CP Officer will ensure that these principles are implemented in curriculum design, teacher training, school leadership, and child protection practices under the supervision of Project Manager.

The GEDSI & CP Officer contributes in developing monthly and annual work plans, coordinates and ensures the quality of project activities implementation related to GEDSI & CP according to the work plan, including facilitating monitoring and evaluation. This position is also the focal point in the implementation of safeguarding in the KREASI projects implementation.

About Project:

Kolaborasi untuk Edukasi Anak Indonesia (KREASI), or Collaboration for the Education of Indonesian Children, is a program designed to accelerate the improvement of literacy, numeracy, and character education for preschool and primary school students in 8 districts across 4 provinces in Indonesia. The program is funded by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) through the Multiplier Grant allocated for Indonesia, leveraging the investment of the Australian Governments Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) for its INOVASI Phase 3 program. Wahana Visi Indonesia, in partnership with Save The Children Indonesia, will implement KREASI project in North Halmahera District. The program closely aligns with Indonesias national education goals, particularly the Merdeka Belajar initiative, which emphasizes essential and flexible learning processes tailored to each student’s interests, talents, and needs, focusing on holistic, relevant, and sustainable education.

This project is contingent upon the donor funding acquisition process. If the funding agreement is not finalized, the recruitment process may be delayed or the position may be discontinued. We are committed to keeping all candidates informed transparently throughout this process.

1.Strategy Development and Planning:

Ensure the alignment of project activities with child protection laws and international standards.

Ensure that all projects activities are designed and implemented in accordance with child protection policy, by prioritizing childrens safety and wellbeing.

Support the KREASI team in building a transformative child-focused community development vision and its planning.

Guide communities in identifying child-related issues and prioritize program implementation based on needs, opportunities, and community capabilities, aligned with project design and annual work plan.

With the support of the KREASI Team, support the development of a comprehensive GEDSI and child protection integration strategy across the four core pillars of the KREASI project.

Coordinate and align the design of child protection activities together with the Basic Education Officer, Early Childhood Care and Development Officer and Advocacy Officer.

Identify gaps and opportunities to promote inclusive practices in education systems and child protection mechanisms, research and assessment.

  • Resource and Acquisition Management: Monitor projects activities to ensure compliance with organizational and donor requirements. Conduct field visits to ensure the quality of the projects child protection implementation and compliance with standards. Support KREASI Team in delivery of Project Goals. Guide communities in identifying available resources, risk management, and readiness to engage in program implementation. Support the Manager in preparing program implementation at school, village and district levels and take responsibility for preparation and execution 3.Capacity Building: Facilitate training for staff, schools and communities on child protection measures including safeguarding . Train communities and partners in managing local initiatives. Support capacity building efforts by providing training and technical assistance to school principals, teachers, community volunteers /PATBM (community-based child protection) , on child protection principles and practices. Support the KREASI Team in delivering training sessions on GEDSI and child protection -related principles for school leadership teams, and community stakeholders. Establish/strengthen PATBM s (community-based integrated child protection) in providing care for children, preventing violence and improving referral systems at the village level integrated with school . Support the contextualization and adaptation of training modules on gender-sensitive and disability-inclusive practices for school leaders, teachers, and child protection teams (TPPK). Support the piloting of inclusive education at the district level in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Support the implementation of inclusive education practices by conducting workshops for school teachers and community-based child protection groups (CBCPs). Support KREASI Team to advocate comprehensive and fair regulations relate to project in village level. Conduct reflection and learning processes with communities, including the most vulnerable groups, and partners. Share learnings and program implementation reports with relevant stakeholders.
  • Accountability: Conduct child protection assessments and monitor situations that could cause potential risks to children and other vulnerable groups. Participate in evaluations and assessments related to child protection activities, ensuring integration of community feedback. Support the assessment of the impact of GEDSI and child protection integration on program outcomes and provide actionable insights for improvement. Prepare regular reports regarding projects progress and achievements, including main achievements, challenges and recommendations for projects improvement. Produce regular progress reports (monthly and quarterly) highlighting key achievements, challenges and next steps for GEDSI and child protection integration. Document field implementation processes and provide monthly activity progress reports to supervisors. Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual project reporting. Facilitate documentation of best practices, lessons learned, and case studies to improve child protections implementation in the project. Support the Program Manager and the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team to develop GEDSI and Child protection specific indicators. Assist in the development of M&E tools/tools to track the progress and impact of child protection interventions. Collect important and accurate data related to the implementation of child protection in the project, using standardized tools and methodologies. Implement activities with communities as per the Annual Plan, adhering to standards and budget. Provide community development technical assistance, including project management, activity implementation, reporting, communication systems, and internal monitoring and evaluation.
