World Vision is a global Christian humanitarian organisation dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities to reach their full potential by addressing the root causes of poverty and injustice. World Vision serves all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.
World Vision initiated operations in Burkina Faso in 2021 to respond to humanitarian needs, aiming to strengthen resilience among women, men, boys, and girls. Current programs in Burkina Faso span eight regions, including Bankui, Guiriko, Gulmu, Kadiogo, Kuilse, Liptako, Sourou and Yaadga. Since the beginning of its operations in Burkina Faso, World Vision has reached over 1,479,788 people, including 722,341 children across 8/17 regions, through integrated multisectoral emergency and resilience programs in food security, livelihoods, nutrition, health, WASH, protection, mental health, and psychosocial support
As a member of the World Vision Partnership, World Vision Burkina Faso draws on a roster of national and international humanitarian technical experts, digital systems and solutions to ensure quality and agile programming.
Our current strategy (2024 2028) in Burkina Faso is implemented through the sectors of Food Security and Resilience, Health & nutrition, Water, sanitation and hygiene integrated with cross-cutting themes including child protection, advocacy, urban programming, youth and women’s empowerment, gender equality, disability and social inclusion, faith & Development, and environmental sustainability & climate adaptation.
The Country Director WV Burkina Faso will strategically lead, develop and direct the operations and implementation of all aspects of World Vision Burkina Fasos ministry.
You will be a leader who contributes to World Vision’s Partnership life, in line with Twin Citizenship principles to ensure high Ministry quality and high impact on the field. In addition to ensuring that this ministry is directly contributing to the sustained well-being of children and the fulfilment of their rights within families and communities, you will also act as both a local and global representative of the organization. You will represent WV to all donors, project partners, other WV Partnership offices and divisions, local Government, Church representatives and non-governmental organizations serving according to given Power of Attorney.

Your Major Responsibilities will include:
Representation of World Visions vision and mission and maintenance of effective external relationships
Develop and monitor implementation of a country strategy aligned with WV strategic goals and humanitarian priorities
Ensure the country office is appropriately staffed, equipped, and empowered
Ensure the response is fully funded and maintain strategic relationships for grant acquisition and advocacy
Initiate resourcing mechanisms and ensure strong financial and supplychain stewardship
Ensure quality operations and timely internal/external reporting
Ensure quality program implementation and adherence to humanitarian and child wellbeing standards
Establish and maintain relationships with churches and faith leaders, while engaging people of all faith traditions
Provide leadership for effective risk management (programmatic, security, financial, safeguarding, and reputational)
You will be required to have the following Professional Experience and Skills:
Must be a Burkinabe, who is fluent in English as well as French, with experience living and working in Burkina Faso.
A minimum of 10 years in a Leadership role in Development or the Humanitarian sector.
Minimum of 5 years fragile context or Emergency Response experience
Country leadership experience would be preferred
Demonstrated understanding of key humanitarian principles, standards and best practices.
University degree in Humanitarian Studies or relevant field. Masters degree preferred.
Intensive experience in leading a multi-cultural team of professionals
Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
Experience in engaging with governmental institutions and multilateral agencies
Experience in managing humanitarian operations that facilitate innovation and calculated risk taking.
Experience in serving as an organizational spokesperson to media and other external audiences

Vous devrez posseder l’experience et les competences professionnelles suivantes :
Etre de nationalite burkinabe, maitriser l’anglais et le francais, et avoir une experience de vie et de travail au Burkina Faso.
Avoir au minimum 10 ans d’experience a un poste de direction dans le secteur du developpement ou humanitaire.
Avoir au minimum 5 ans d’experience dans des contextes fragiles ou en reponse aux situations d’urgence.
Une experience de direction pays serait un atout.
Avoir demontre une bonne comprehension des principes, normes et meilleures pratiques humanitaires.
Etre titulaire d’un diplome universitaire en etudes humanitaires ou dans un domaine pertinent. Un master est un atout.
Experience approfondie de la direction d’equipes multiculturelles de professionnels
Experience de travail en contexte interculturel
Experience de collaboration avec des institutions gouvernementales et des agences multilaterals
Experience de la gestion d’operations humanitaires favorisant l’innovation et la prise de risques calcules
