VisionFund (VF), the microfinance arm of World Vision, provides credit, insurance, and savings to underserved communities worldwide. We invest in our clients’ agency and God-given potential and see God grow new small businesses, human potential, and childrens futures through our work.
Were excited to invite you to join our VisionFund Strategy Team as an intern! You will help us shape and share our strategies, client success stories, and the impact of our work. Your role will be crucial in expanding the reach of our microfinance efforts and enhancing our communications.
The Strategy Team comprises three sub-teams that work closely to integrate the respective areas: Strategy Realization, Impact, and Marketing & Communication (M&C). This role sits within the Impact team but works closely with the other strategy sub-teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful work and make a real difference!
What You’ll Do:
Measure Client Outcomes through Surveys: Support the end-to-end implementation of surveys measuring the impact of VisionFunds financial products, including enhancing existing dashboards, analysing quantitative and qualitative data to generate actionable insights, and ensuring timely feedback loops to relevant stakeholders.
Benchmark Performance with Industry Standards: Conduct comparative analysis between externally available data in the financial inclusion sector and impact-operational data from internal databases to identify areas of over- and underperformance.
Monitor Strategy Realization: Collaborate with the Strategy Realization team to design dashboards that support VisionFunds management in making informed decisions
Support Systems Integration: Provide support to the impact, strategy realization, and IT teams on integrating impact and operational data to drive operational improvements in the MFIs.
Ensure Data Quality Through Validation : Perform rigorous checks to improve the accuracy and reliability of Micro Finance Institutions survey data.
Stay Ahead with Sector Research : Investigate the latest trends, evidence, and best practices in financial inclusion from leading industry bodies, regulators, and investors.

Location: Remote within the US . You must be physically located in one of the following states where WVI is registered as an employer: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, International Development, or other Social Sciences majors.
Internship Cohort Dates : 1 June 28 August 2026
Stipend: This internship is unpaid, but all US-based interns receive a monthly stipend of $800.
Hours: Full-time and part-time (30-40 hours/week)
Eligibility
All candidates must meet the following requirements:
At least 18 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (e.g., U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or F-1 student visa holder with valid work authorization) and possess a valid U.S. Social Security Number.
Able to commit to at least 30 hours per week for the entire internship period: 1 June 28 August 2026.
Current student or recent graduate from a graduate programme (within 2 years).
Adhere to World Vision Internationals Christian Statement of Faith.
Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software in those devices.
