Overview
The National Field Response (NFR) team takes the ASPCA’s commitment to animals to the very doorsteps where help is needed. The team travels from coast to coast responding to requests from law enforcement and animal welfare professionals with the primary goal of removing animals from crisis situations created by natural disasters, animal abuse, hoarding or neglect.
Who We Are
The National Field Response (NFR) team travels from coast to coast responding to requests from Emergency Management, law enforcement and animal welfare professionals. NFR rescues and cares for animals in crisis situations created by natural disasters like hurricanes, tornados, floods, and wildfires, or by animal cruelty like animal fighting, puppy mills, hoarding, or neglect. The NFR team works closely with our Legal Advocacy & Investigations, Cruelty Recovery Center, Veterinary Forensics, Behavioral Sciences, Relocation and Placement, and Shelter Medicine Services teams to ensure high-quality operational planning, resources, field operations and animal transport for cruelty, natural disasters, and emergency shelter operations. NFR also provides disaster training, community planning and grant funding to communities in high-risk areas for natural disaster.
What Youll Do
Under the leadership of the Sr. Manager, Warehouse Operations, the Warehouse Manager will provide operational support for the National Field Response Equipment Warehouse, which houses vehicles, equipment, and response tools for the NFR deployments. This support includes maintaining a safe, clean, and organized facility in a state of readiness for emergency rapid response, warehouse inventory and equipment maintenance as well as ongoing inventory, re- stocking and management of daily warehouse operations .
The person in this role will be required to drive a box truck with response supplies to cruelty or disaster responses and will also work closely with the Sr. Manager, Fleet & Transport to help with animal transport when needed and with the Sr. Manager, Field Logistics to support field logistics during deployment operations. This position will require the person in this role to work on-site from the NFR Warehouse in Maryland Heights, Missouri and will require travel as needed during deployments to provide operational, logistic and transport support for field operations during natural disasters and cruelty cases.
Manager, Warehouse reports directly to the Senior Manager, Warehouse Operations and has no direct reports.
Where and When Youll Work
This position is an on-site role and reports to the Maryland Heights, MO ASPCA location.
The schedule for this position will be Saturday – Wednesday reporting to an office in Maryland Heights Mo. from 8:00am – 5:00pm, some holidays and extended hours may be required .
Candidates must be based in Missouri or Illinois, and within a reasonable commuting distance to the Maryland Heights warehouse daily.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 40 % weekly/monthly/annually, as needed.

Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiring salary range for this role is set forth below and may be modified in the future.
For salary roles: The target hiring range for this role is $62,000 – $67,000 annually.

Warehouse Management
Assist Sr. Manager with supply inventory management and make recommendations for replacement/ordering as needed
Clean-up and decontamination of supplies/equipment post operation and ensure restocking of response kits and other supplies as needed
Perform regular maintenance checks forklift and pallet jacks
Support Operational needs by pulling required supplies, loading equipment, preparing shipments, and shipping supplies using LTL, FedEx, UPS, and USPC.
Receiving shipments and inspecting for damage and putting away in a timely manner.
Operate a forklift in and around the warehouse as needed
Drive a box truck or other NFR regulated trucks and trailers to transport equipment to deployment locations
Field Response Support
Perform duties as the Warehouse Liaison/Logistics Lead during ASPCA disaster field responses
Assume leadership role(s) as assigned
Deploy to field operations in needed capacity as assigned
Collaborate with Planning & Response Branch on after action debriefs
Prepare situation reports, summaries, narrative statements, and analyses of events, after action reports and team debriefs
Perform other duties as assigned/required
Administrative
Participate in ongoing training for National Field Response team members
Perform functions needed in MS Office suite, Workday, Air Table, and Inventory management system
Assist Sr. Manager with maintaining a monthly reporting system to provide reports to managing Director
Mentor newly trained staff and responders, when appropriate, and conduct workshops or give lectures to animal welfare professionals, in effort to expand knowledge of ASPCA response capabilities and field operation protocols
Assist Sr. Manager with annual updating of Standard Operating Guidelines (SOGs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for warehouse protocols
Operate in alignment with our Core Values of commitment, ownership, team, elevate and impact
Qualifications
Must hold current forklift operator certificate, or have the ability to meet requirements to obtain forklift operator certificate within 30 days of hire
Must provide a valid drivers license upon hire and pass a motor vehicle history check demonstrating a safe driving history
Must have the ability to pass a Department of Transportation Medical Exam to drive an ASPCA Regulated vehicles
Class A CDL desired or willing to secure a CDL within 12 months of hire
Must be comfortable driving larger trucks, Vans and be able to pull 30 trailers and boats
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
High levels of patience, flexibility, and professionalism, particularly while under pressure
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and look for efficiency in procedures
Strong computer/smartphone skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Must occasionally lift, push, pull,or move up to 50 pounds
