Full Job Description

Result of Service

The duration of the consultancy is 6 months, renewable subject to budget availability and satisfactory performance

Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent: 1- Prepares, using the GIS software, all drafting works necessary for the production of maps, diagrams, charts and locations and all attributes related to the GIS polygons, including, editing GIS features and attributes, transferring data between GIS and AutoCAD, collating GIS data with external database; organizes layers in GIS maps and changes symbology for viewing and presentation purposes; Ability to work on many tools including geographic web tools such as Google Earth; 2- Coordinates and seeks advice and guidance from GIS & Information Management specialist-HQA in relation to the projects needs, based on the data available for the camps improvement; produces reports, statistical and cartographic analysis as required. 3- Provides support for staff in data collection and provides relevant information, data, forms, and maps that are required for conducting surveys and developing designs, for engineering works. 4- Produces hard copies of the GIS maps, designs and plans, extracts reports based on analysis of the GIS data; 5- Prepares drawings, diagrams, charts and simple graphic works to be used in presentations as required, including those presented to community. 6- Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications/special skills

A university degree in information management, information science, geography, architecture, urban planning or similar with mandatory formal/certified training in GIS. At least three years experience in data management, and GIS with demonstrated ability in development, analysis. Experience in managing databases, Cartographic skills, digitizing on GIS and other GIS tools. Proficiency in ArcGIS and/or QGIS, spatial databases, dashboard creation and GIS story maps. Experience with GPS data collection and remote sensing is an asset

Languages

Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic
