Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent: 1. Manages social aspects of camp improvement planning and projects; including organizing community surveys, interviews and other forms of data collection; collates, sort data, provides technical inputs on the social standpoints of the project, focusing on community needs and feedback. 2. For participatory planning approach, conducts awareness sessions, mobilization of community, stakeholder engagements, capacity building, digital materials of the camp projects at various stages to increase the community understanding and engagement, works closely with site engineers, Camp improvement team, and stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the camp improvement project and that stakeholders concerns and problems are resolved, if technically attainable. 3. Support the improvement of the shelter and camp team efforts in communication with stakeholders, to ensure efficient project process; and conduct meetings with stakeholders, such as town hall meetings or similar event, including: a. Organizing logistics, including venue setup, invitations, and materials distribution. b. Supports and facilitates the meeting while going, including handling participant inquiries and ensuring smooth communication throughout the event 4. Manages the project documentation, including entering data into different Information System; support in generating reports, such as assessments, shelter scoring, grievances, and post-occupancy checks. 5. Participates in different assessments including shelters assessments with the Project Team and facilitates household or community meetings to gather input from affected families, including special needs of women, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and others. 6. Coordinates the process of handing over projects such as public spaces, shelters and other projects to refugees or community; supports the grievance process including receiving, registering, and following up on complaints. 7. Follows up and provides other kinds of support to the project including monitoring, reporting and others; preparing lists of eligible cases for improvement works with recommendations for appropriate action. 8. Performs such other duties as may be required and assigned.
Qualifications/special skills
A university degree in Social Studies, Sociology, Psychology or related field A minimum of 3 years of experience in community engagement, mobilization, or development projects.
Languages
Very good command of written and spoken English and Arabic
