Safer Chemicals Project Pews Safer Chemicals Project aims to measurably reduce Americans exposure to harmful endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs). The project focuses on reducing exposure to the most harmful EDCs in use in the near-term, while laying the foundation for longer-term policy reform to prevent additional harmful EDCs from being introduced. The Safer Chemicals Project is a collaboration between Pews Environment and Government Performance portfolios. The Environment Portfolio focuses on science-based, nonpartisan, and sustainable solutions to help protect the planet and people. We work in partnership with governments, Indigenous rights holders, intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, local stakeholders, scientists, and other researchers to advance public policy so that nature and communities can thrive. The Government Performance portfolio provides the nonpartisan research, solutions, and momentum decisionmakers need to ensure our institutions improve the health of people in the United States and enable them to successfully climb the economic ladder. Those goals are pursued through a wide range of the portfolios policy-focused projects (with explorations into new areas underway)from ensuring states finances are prepared for future volatility, to unlocking gateways to mental health care, to addressing the nations lack of attainable housing. Position Overview The Senior Associate, Cross-Cutting, Safer Chemicals Project, is part of a team that provides multi-disciplinary support to Pews Safer Chemicals Project and helps to implement the strategies that achieve the teams objectives. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Senior Associate will support leadership in achieving goals and contribute to the effective day-to-day functioning of the project. Located in Pews Washington D.C. office, this position participates in Pews hybrid work program with core days in the office and the flexibility to telework the remaining days. Staff also enjoy four telework flex weeks per year. Ensure connectivity among adjacent workstreams (e.g., Science, Public Policy, Private Sector teams). Including managing the coordination of external stakeholder outreach, identifying areas of intersection that need coordination, etc. Provide basic project management support to adjacent workstreams as needed to ensure alignment and coordination. Manage and maintain budgets and track project expenditures and projections for specific initiatives. Work in conjunction with the Senior Manager to organize logistics and provide operational support for events and meetings. Prepare meeting materials, including PowerPoint presentations, agendas, leave-behinds and schedules, for internal and external audiences. Support the projects internal Steering Committee meetings and deliberations (e.g., schedule meetings, develop agenda, record outcomes). Serve as a buyer for project grants and contracts. Provide operational support to project leadership including assisting with the projects response to requests from the Executive Office and Chief Program Officer. Participate in activities that support program and Pew-wide objectives. Requirements Generally, four years of applicable experience, specifically in project management, operations, and/or events management. Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. Proven capacity to think strategically and creatively, juggle multiple priorities, adjust to changing circumstances, organize time efficiently, and remain attentive to details. Strong written and oral communication. Demonstrated experience working as part of a team, fostering consensus, and collaborating with diverse partners to advance pragmatic solutions. Travel Travel is not expected for this position. Work Authorization Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country for which they are seeking employment without visa sponsorship. Salary Range $79,900 USD – $89,300 USD The salary range represents a reasonable estimate of the annual salary based on Pews commitment to provide equitable and market-competitive pay. The actual salary offered will take into consideration many factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills and experience, internal pay equity, and business need.
