Full Job Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Schedules and coordinates staff to meet patient needs while allowing for effective performance of all required duties and responsibilities. Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing level across all radiologic modalities.
Coordinates training and orientation of X-ray department personnel to ensure adherence to department procedures and imaging policies. Conducts on-going evaluation of department personnel.
Manages technical procedures and workflows to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Responsible for imaging quality, repeat rates by monitoring performance, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with established standards.
Knowledge of all radiologic platforms including but not limited to:fluoroscopy, C-arm, dental equipment and portable, as assigned, for each exam in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
Assists in the development of action plans, designing and communicating policies and procedures, training, and staff development in the X-ray department.
Keeps and maintains downtime procedures for the X-ray department, while working with internal stakeholders and leaders to coordinate and maintain patient care, during scheduled or unscheduled downtimes.
Meets operational standards by contributing information to productivity, quality, and patient service standards, resolving problems, and improving and maintaining quality assurance programs for X-Ray department functions.
Completes all other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department. This may include performing radiographic studies as needed.
Maintains expertise in current and proposed Joint Commission and CMS standards, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
Promotes a culture of safety and a non-punitive environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and current license to practice as a medical Radiographer in the state of Nebraska required.
Minimum of 5 years of imaging/radiology experience required.
Active CPR (BLS) certification required.
