Knowledge and Abilities Requested
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Duties and responsibilities
Conduct training workshops for participants families, children, and youth, church leaders, and community volunteers. Lead community triggering sessions using participatory CLTS methods. Guide participants families and communities in analyzing sanitation practices and developing action plans. Promote affordable, locally appropriate latrine options. Support churches in achieving and sustaining ODF status. Mobilize pastors, church leaders, and youth groups in sanitation advocacy. Train church volunteers as hygiene promoters and CLTS facilitators. Mentor local Facilitators to ensure sustainability beyond project duration. Integrate biblical principles of stewardship, cleanliness, and care for creation into WASH messaging (as appropriate and respectful of community diversity). Support the formation of community WASH committees linked to church structures where relevant. Develop simple hygiene promotion materials suitable for church and community use. Supervise the implementation of all fieldwork assigned to him or her according to the WASH CLTS approach, timeline plans of work, and safety standards related to WASH in Haiti. Conduct site visits periodically to follow up on progress and prepare daily and weekly reports of work progress. Ensure the collection and documentation of impact and success stories and/or of the project to demonstrate the program’s guidelines. Any related tasks/duties assigned by the Supervisor of Program Support and the CIV administrator. Ensure that the program is implemented according to the Health and Safety policies.
Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelors degree in public health, Environmental Health, Community Development, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in WASH programming. Proven experience in CLTS facilitation. Experience working with churches or faith-based organizations is highly desirable. Strong community mobilization and participatory facilitation skills. Strong problem-identification and problem-solving skills; Strong practical knowledge in strengthening the community based on Local Resource Mobilization;( thats the purpose for which the CLTS WASH Specialist will be hired) Proven experience in participatory assessments. Fluent in speaking French and Haitian Creole. The ability to speak English is a plus. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal abilities to develop support with the staff and to interact with churches and partner projects; Computer literate, experience with the internet, applications of Microsoft Office , and presentation software. Ability to drive a car and motorcycle to perform field visits throughout the regions of Saint Raphael, Grande Rivere du Nord, Dondon, Plaine du Nord, Limbe, Port-Margot, Petit Bourg de Borgne, Nord-Est, and Cap-Haitien. Knowledge and use of the technology of Information and Communication, to participate actively in virtual meetings.
The position is based in Cap-Haitian , North Department.
