Full Job Description

Daily Life & Household Support

Manage daily logistics, including transportation, grocery shopping, meal planning, and light household organization.

Assist with scheduling and coordinating home maintenance, repairs, and other in-home services.

Help coordinate paid caregiver and worker schedules, ensuring seamless support at home.

Support families with downsizing, furnishing memory care apartments, or setting up in-home modifications to promote safety and comfort.

Assist with administrative tasks, such as bill payments, appointment scheduling, and household organization.

Social & Lifestyle Engagement

Provide companion-based support, engaging in cognitive and social activities such as attending concerts, yoga classes, community events, gardening, or simply enjoying music together.

Accompany clients to salons, museums, social outings, and other meaningful experiences to foster connection and joy.

Help facilitate structured routines that support cognitive engagement and well-being.

Caregiver & Family Support

Work in partnership with family caregivers, reducing stress by handling logistical and lifestyle responsibilities.

Offer emotional support and practical assistance to caregivers navigating the complexities of dementia care.

Provide insights and updates to the Guide and IDT team regarding the clients well-being, engagement, and evolving needs.

Proactive, Relationship-Driven Approach

Focus on preventing crises rather than reacting to them, ensuring a smooth, structured support system.

Maintain a flexible, personalized approach to services, tailoring support to each clients unique lifestyle and preferences.

Serve as a trusted and reliable presence in the lives of both the client and their caregiver, fostering long-term relationships.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelors degree in Gerontology, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience in dementia care and aging services).

Minimum of 2 years of experience working with older adults, particularly those with dementia or cognitive impairments (or equivalent experience).

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and adaptable approach.

Ability to navigate complex family dynamics with sensitivity and professionalism.

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation for community-based work.

Preferred:

Experience working within a private pay, fee-for-service model.

Background in lifestyle coordination, event planning, or concierge services for older adults.

Familiarity with dementia-specific engagement strategies and supportive interventions.

Work Environment:

This is a flexible, community-based role with time spent in clients homes, community settings, and administrative planning. The Lifestyle Companion will work both independently and as part of a highly collaborative interdisciplinary team, contributing to the overall well-being of clients and their families.

Compensation:

Range: $36 – $45/hourly

This amount is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee, which is always dependent on actual experience, education and other factors.

This range does not include any additional equity, benefits, or other non-monetary compensation which may be included.
