Directorate : Policy, Information and Communications
Contract : 1 2 month fixed-term contract
Hours : Part time 21- 28 hours per week (3 or 4 days)
Location : Stratford, London . Office – based with high flexibility (1-2 days per week in the office)

Our services reach millions each year with high qual i ty evidence b a sed information and support at every step of the cancer journey.
This role
Were looking for an experienced leader of national – scale support services to join us during a period of change, as we develop our online community and nurse led cancer helpline . This is to ensure our support services adapt to changing audience behaviours and to personalise and tailor our offer so we can continue to grow our impact and value. Another key element of the role is to embed ou r new impact framework across the wider team, allowing us to continuously improve and measure the impact of our Cancer Patient Information Services.
What will I be doing?
In this role, youll help shape the future of our cance r support servicesso we can continue to offer sector leading support at every step of the cancer journey.
Lead the ongoing development of Cancer Chat and Nurse-led Cancer Information Helpline
Ensure operational plans and service budgets are well-managed, aligned with strategy, and delivered effectively.
Lead the rollout of our new Cancer Patient Information Services (CPIS) Theory of Change ; w ork ing with consultants and internal teams to develop a robust measurement and evaluation framework and building a cross-team culture of continuou s service improvement.
Lead diversification approaches to delivering cancer patient services, working closely with the operational managers of the Helpline and Cancer Chat and colleagues across CPIS.
Play a role in shaping a chann el diversification strategy for patient information and support.
Act as a trusted expert on patient needs and best practice in patient s upport servic es , guiding colleagues across CRUK.
Support income generation activity by advising on supporter journeys and helping shape fundraising aligned service experiences.
What are we looking for?
Proven leadership skills with e xperience leading and developing diverse, specialist teamssuch as clinicians, advisors or frontline support staff in a changing context.
Deep expertise in leading, planning and delivering patient and public facing support services at a national level .
Strong strategic thinking, with a track record of shaping service s , informing and developing strateg y in an information and support service context.
A track record in evaluating and monitoring patient or public services; ideally using Theory of Change impact models and embedding these in servic e team practice.
Deep understanding of the needs of people living with health conditionsideally with direct experience supporting cancer patients.
Strong advocacy skills able to champion accessible services that reach groups affected by inequality or exclusion.
Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to represent patient needs , building strong relationships at all levels and influence.
