Your opportunity

Join Mission Australia as a Project Manager supporting our Housing Growth portfolio, where you will lead business-focused projects linked to property development, refurbishments, fitouts, and infrastructure activity – this is not IT or systems delivery.

This role suits someone who understands the practicalities of planning, approvals, stakeholder engagement and risk management in a builtenvironment context, and who can keep complex, multistage property projects moving. You will work closely with Housing Growth, Finance, Legal teams and external partners to bring clarity, structure and momentum to our development pipeline, helping us expand and improve the places where our communities live and thrive.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

Lead endtoend project planning and delivery across multiple propertyrelated projects, including defining scope, timelines, deliverables and resource needs.

Develop and maintain core project documentation such as project plans, schedules, governance papers, RAID logs, communication plans and risk registers.

Manage multiple concurrent development projects across different lifecycle stages,

Coordinate activities across internal business teams including Housing Growth, Finance and Legal and external partners to ensure alignment, progress and problemsolving throughout the project lifecycle.

Manage budgets, forecasts and financial reporting in partnership with the Mission Australia Finance, ensuring accurate tracking, compliance and timely updates.

Identify risks, issues and roadblocks early, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure risks are escalated appropriately.

Work with development managers to oversee and coordinate tasks related to property development, including technical development activities such as planning approvals, site investigations, authority consultations, design milestone management, and compliance tasks Prepare and present documentation for governance forums and stagegate approvals, ensuring decisionmakers have clear, concise information.

Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across government, internal teams and external partners ensuring expectations are managed and communication is transparent.

Requirements for success

Strong project management methodology skills, including developing plans from limited initial information, coordinating timelines and maintaining documentation.

Strong experience managing businessfocused projects supporting property development, infrastructure, social and affordable housing development for government bodies or Community Housing Providers with a proven record of delivering on time and within budget.

Understanding of the endtoend housing development lifecycle, including planning approvals, design phases, site investigations, construction stages and compliance requirements.

Knowledge of the social and affordable housing sector, community services environments, or governmentfunded development programs such as HAFF, with the ability to navigate sectorspecific requirements and the associated approval, compliance and reporting requirements.

High risk awareness with the ability to identify, assess, escalate and mitigate risks across propertyrelated projects.

Excellent communication skills, able to simplify technical or regulatory information for decision makers and keep diverse stakeholders engaged and informed.

Strong financial capability, including managing budgets, forecasting, tracking spends and ensuring compliance with organisational financial and reporting standards.
