The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, development planning, system of systems engineering, and threat reduction to help shape the future space missions across the national security space (NSS) enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including US Space Force, U.S Space Command, Air Force Materiel Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of services and support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers but also horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation. DSG also assists the Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) in the conception, design, acquisition, launch and operations of satellite, launch vehicle, ground control, and range systems.

The Launch Systems Division (LSD) helps our customers develop innovative solutions in support of military, human space flight, and commercial applications by interfacing with organizations such as the United States Space Force, NASA, DARPA, OSL, and FAA. Our people provide customers timely, value added, decision quality information and analyses to solve technical and programmatic issues to outpace the threat.

We are seeking a well-qualified Launch Systems Engineer with proven leadership and outstanding communication abilities to be part of a team that supports and shapes the future of the Servicing, Mobility, and Logistics program (USSF/SSC/SYD 80/AL) as part of the Assured Access to Space (AATS) Directorate. We are committed to supporting the United States Space Force, Space Systems Command, AATS Directorate. Our team provides technical subject matter expertise to support Point-to-Point Delivery (P2D) development and procurement. Are you ready to launch your career in this exciting new mission area?

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility at Cape Canaveral, FL.

What Youll Be Doing

Provide technical and programmatic leadership and guidance for P2D activities in support of SSC/SYD 80/AL Director

Participate in current and future contract activities

Coordinate with AGO teams comprised of diversely skilled engineers servicing various portions of complex projects to solve customer challenges

Prepare and deliver reports and briefings and provide technical assessments to external customers as well as to Aerospace management

Develop and maintain acquisition plan and schedule documents

Track programmatic issues associated with each project and to ensure the application of Aerospace expertise in the fulfillment of each task

Coordinate with current and potential P2D stakeholders (TRANSCOM, NASA, etc.)

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for Project Engineer – Systems and Mission Assurance Engineering:

Bachelors and/or advanced degree in a technical/STEM related area of study

8 or more years of professional growth and related experience with launch vehicle hardware

Some demonstrated understanding and experience with launch vehicle hardware design, assembly, testing, and/or operations

Track record in coordinating or participating in multi-disciplinary technical team efforts

Some demonstrated ability to work independently and directly with a customer

Ability to travel as needed (mostly domestic)

This position requires a current and active TS/SCI clearance, which is issued by the US government . U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

Minimum Requirements for Senior Project Engineer – Systems and Mission Assurance Engineering:

All of the above requirements for Project Engineer

12+ years of professional growth and related experience with launch vehicle hardware

Demonstrated understanding and experience with launch vehicle hardware design, assembly, testing, and/or operations

Track record coordinating or participating in multi-disciplinary technical team efforts

Demonstrated ability to work independently and directly with customer and geographically dispersed team
