This consultancy provides an opportunity to contribute specialized expertise to Syria International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism’s mission in international cooperation and sustainable development. Working in Switzerland, you will apply your professional skills to address complex challenges in international cooperation and sustainable development and support the organization’s programmatic objectives. Qualifications

  • Language: English and French are the working languages in the Secretariat.
  • Language: For this position fluency in English and Kurdish-Kurmanji is required.
  • Language: Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
  • Language: Knowledge of Kurdish-Sorani is desirable..
  • Experience: Two years of professional experience in interpretation (Kurdish/Kurmanji/English).

Skills

  • Consecutive interpretation including witness interviews in Kurdish Kurmanji/English is required.
  • Experience providing translation to human rights or criminal law investigations or on accountability or human rights-related subjects is desirable.
  • Work experience with an accountability mechanism is desirable.
  • Experience working in the field within a team is desirable.
  • Experience interpreting for victims and survivors of atrocity crimes is desirable..
