Job Summary

This internship offers a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in international development and sustainable urban development, housing rights, and urban planning. Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: Applicants must at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: a.
  • Academic Qualifications: Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), b.
  • Academic Qualifications: Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent), c.
  • Academic Qualifications: Have graduated with Bachelor’s degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.
  • Academic Qualifications: Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Academic Qualifications: Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
  • Academic Qualifications: Preferred areas of study: Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Administration, Marketing, or related fields is required (Masters degree or PhD candidate preferable).
  • Academic Qualifications: Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
  • Academic Qualifications: However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

  • Responsibilities Content Creation & Communication: Create multimedia content such as social media graphics, videos, and infographics to support program messaging.
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of promotional materials and communication toolkits.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of communication and outreach activities, including creating visuals for public events, campaigns, and global observances.
  • Draft and edit bilingual content for digital and print platforms (e.g., website stories, newsletters, reports, flyers).
  • Digital Presence & Knowledge Management: Assist with managing and scheduling social media content across UN-Habitat platforms.
