Qualifications
- Academic Qualifications: Enrolled in a graduate program in law (Masters degree or equivalent), or recently graduated with specialization in public international law, administrative law, contract or commercial law.
- Academic Qualifications: Completed at least two full academic years of study towards a law degree, with courses in public international law, administrative law, contract or commercial law
- Academic Qualifications: Highly organized with strong political awareness and knowledge of administrative investigation theories and practices.
- Academic Qualifications: Proficient in standard software applications such as MS-Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Language: Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Perform other related legal duties as required.
Skills
- Provide legal support on disciplinary and administrative law matters, including analysing cases, drafting legal opinions, preparing legal documents, and advising on compensation, entitlements, and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and provide comprehensive analysis on administrative, human resources, and public international law matters, including international human rights, humanitarian, and refugee law, in alignment with UNRWA regulations and practices.
- Support the resolution of issues related to the privileges and immunities of the Agency and its personnel, including legal matters concerning the arrest and detention of staff.
- Research and advise on administrative law and internal justice matters, focusing on staff misconduct, governance issues, and the internal administration of justice within UNRWA.
- Assist in reviewing and advising on legal issues related to UNRWAs administrative issuances and internal governance, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with the Agencys regulatory framework.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to raise awareness among UNRWA Jordan Field Office staff on administrative and disciplinary law matters, and contribute to updating the Legal Offices tools and resources.
- Participate in and support legal meetings, training sessions, and events, including notetaking, report preparation, and outlining action points.
