Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Academic Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in planning, supply chain management, contracts administration, logistics operations or related field is desirable.
  • Academic Qualifications: Working experience using Word processing and spreadsheets is desirable.
  • Academic Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in the provision of driving services is required.
  • Academic Qualifications: Managing traffic forecasting or GPS navigation applications is desirable.
  • Academic Qualifications: Knowledge of vehicle mechanics is desirable.
  • Academic Qualifications: Experience working with the United Nations, United Nations agencies, funds or programs or with an international organizations desirable.
  • Academic Qualifications: A valid driving license is required.
  • Academic Qualifications: Technical certificates in road safety, defensive driving, first-aid and/or Colombian transport regulations are desirable.
  • Academic Qualifications: Certificate or evidence of safe driving records in Colombia is required..

Skills

  • Supports the Regional Administrative Officer (RAO) and the Head of the Office (HoO) in the proper maintenance of the office, ensuring the continuity of services, upkeep of office equipment as well as facilities.
  • Assists to coordinate administrative and logistics support with Mission Support Unit – Logistics Operations HQ and other mission components, such as military, police, security and substantive offices.
  • Assists in the preparation of material request orders for transfer of assets.
  • Updates relevant databases (e.g., stock levels of various supply items, asset holdings, logistics project updates).
  • Supports the participation and development of logistics emergency, contingency plans and identifies ways to overcome obstacles when delivering goods.
  • Deals effectively and tactfully with officials and visitors.
  • Drives vehicles safely for the transport of authorized personnel and documents, as needed.
  • Logs of official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc.
  • Follows UN driving policies, the surface transport manual and road safety regulations.
  • Coordinates with dispatchers, supervisors, and/or clients regarding schedules.
  • Supports coordination efforts in the Regional Office and ensures provision of logistical support services to personnel deployed in support of the mandate implementation.
  • Ensures the daily maintenance and operational readiness of the vehicle fleet, including minor repairs and coordination of servicing, while supporting field logistics management, fuel control, facility maintenance, and coordination of field missions with relevant HQ units.
