Qualifications
- Academic Qualifications: To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements: 1. (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- Academic Qualifications: The field of study must be closely related to the type of internship you are applying for. 2.
- Academic Qualifications: Be computer literate in standard software applications; 3.
- Academic Qualifications: Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; 4.
- Academic Qualifications: No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (both oral and written) is required.
- Language: Knowledge of French would be an asset..
- Assist in the compilation of presentations, papers and other documents as required.
Skills
- Conduct research and compile information on the work of all United Nations funds, agencies and programs working in Lebanon with a special focus on the peace-development humanitarian nexus.
- Conduct research and compile information on selected issues relevant to Lebanon and the Middle East region.
- Assist in the drafting of geographical and thematic fact sheets.
- Assist in the monitoring of local, regional and international media, including social media.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of events and outreach activities.
- Attend conferences, workshops and other relevant public events as an observer and report back to UNSCOL.
- Translate media items and other documents from Arabic to English or English to Arabic
- Archiving and other administrative functions.
- Perform any other duties as requested
