Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: Advanced university degree (Masters degree or equivalent degree) in Air Transportation/Aviation Management, Air Traffic Management, Aviation Safety Management, Aeronautical/Aerodrome Engineering, or graduation from an equivalent military educational establishment is required.
  • Academic Qualifications: A first level university degree with a relevant combination of education, professional training, certification in air transport operations, and two (2) additional years of work experience in air transport related occupation, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree..
  • Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
  • Language: For this job opening, English and French and Spanish are required.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in air transport operations or aviation safety on a position directly related to the coordination of air transport operations in the national or international environment is required.

Skills

  • Knowledge of aviation industry procurement and logistics processes.
  • Knowledge of institutional mandates, ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices and Annexes of the Chicago Convention, policies and guidelines pertaining to air transport operations and related matters.
  • Ability to review alternative options and select most effective and cost-efficient mode of transport of equipment, supplies and personnel.
  • The ability to analyze and interpret data in support of decision-making and convey resulting information to management.
