Fast-growing, Minneapolis-based nonprofit seeks a full-time, remote Teacher Services Specialist who is passionate about PreK-12 education. AdoptAClassroom.org (AAC) is an online, national nonprofit organization that raises funds from individual and corporate donors to provide teachers and schools with the classroom supplies needed to support student learning and success. Many educators would otherwise spend an average of $860 per year of their own money to purchase the supplies that they need to do their jobs.

The Teacher Services Specialist will be responsible for supporting our educators in our network and recruiting educators for national programs designed to support students in need. Areas of focus include relationship building with educators, outbound/inbound communication to educators and vendors, resolving account order issues, as well as data management; assisting the outreach team during peak season. This position will report to the Teacher Services Manager.

Primary Goals of this Role:

  • Works alongside Teacher Services Manager to:
    • Respond and solve teacher inquiries
    • Creating, following, and updating relevant process documents
    • Serve as a point of contact to the vendors for the teachers
  • Works alongside the VP of Operations to:
    • Identify and voice inefficiencies that can be improved upon
    • Solve complex issues with teacher accounts
  • Works with the Outreach Team to:
    • Assist in matching and outreach, ensuring deliverables to sponsors are met
    • Manage open lines of communication with outreach program stakeholders

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Teacher Services Function:

Customer Service and Support

  • Assist teachers with account and order issues via electronic communications and phone
  • Retrieve order details and execute/communicate order changes.
  • Communicate with AAC vendors to resolve issues with orders, maintain product listings, and answer inquiries
  • Update teacher, donor, and school admin records to ensure current information is on file
  • Troubleshoot basic site issues for users.
  • Escalate technical issues to VP of IT as needed
  • Identify and elevate larger issues to key team members
  • Approval of school pages, requiring more detailed review
  • Review all submissions for approval to use platform

Teacher Relations

  • Develop a deeper understanding of educator needs and advise staff on various projects involving the teacher community
  • Identify and build relationships with key teachers who can serve as good spokespeople with the media on behalf of AAC or that can provide the marketing team with interviews or other marketing content

Database Management

  • Correct, create, and update records for teachers and schools in Salesforce to ensure data integrity

Outreach Function:

Sponsorship Outreach

  • Research, call, and email appropriate school/district contacts to identify and confirm donation acceptance from corporate sponsors in designated markets across the nation
  • Conduct voice/video calls as a liaison between the district/school and corporate partner
  • Utilize Salesforce to track outreach progress and maintain thorough and up-to-date contact records in AAC database, including notes and records regarding relevant communications with schools and districts

Qualification Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Google applications (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, etc)
  • Familiarity with CRM or database systems; knowledge of Salesforce is a plus
  • Familiarity with Zendesk or similar applications is a plus
