• ESCAP resolution 80/1 in May 2024 requested the secretariat to facilitate regional cooperation, through initiative such as the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway initiative, among members and associate members with a view to fostering digital innovation for sustainable development.
• In particular, to provide technical assistance, policy analysis and capacity-building support on leveraging emerging digital opportunities for sustainable development.
• In response, the ESCAP secretariat plans to hire an individual contractor to support the implementation of the KOICA-ESCAP Joint Capacity Building Training Programme on Digital Technologies for Addressing Climate Change Impact in the Pacific, in support of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway initiative.
• The objectives of the individual contractor are to support the project officer on coordination of projects activities including follow ups, including activities contributing to the implementation of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway initiative..
