Job Description:
Districts. The role ensures that all livelihood interventions are delivered in alignment with project models and adapted to the local context. The officer mobilizes communities, facilitates transparent targeting and registration processes, and maintains accurate documentation for all activities carried out. In addition, the Livelihood Officer engages communities in participatory planning, provides essential technical skills and guidance, and leads the practical implementation of both onfarm and offfarm livelihood initiatives. The position also involves continuous monitoring of progress and close collaboration with local stakeholders to ensure that project objectives are effectively achieved at the community level.
Lead the mobilization and engagement of target communities through participatory approaches to ensure their active involvement in planning, implementing, and Resilient interventions
Empowered communities actively own and drive sustainable, livelihood improvements through participatory processes; that result high quality of project deliverables and outputs achieved for all resilient and livelihood activities.
Provide hands-on technical support and facilitate capacity-building initiatives for communities and stakeholders on diverse resilient interventions, sustainable agriculture, market system development techniques, financial inclusion, nutrition including the establishment of demonstration sites and knowledge exchange, S4T groups, Producers group, volunteers.
Capacities of communities and local level stakeholders enhanced
Communities possess the skills and knowledge for effective and adaptive implementation of diverse resilient practices, economic development and nutrition improvement. Awareness, knowledge, and commitment on the climate smart Agriculture, Financial inclusion and market system community-based nutrition interventions among key local level stakeholders and communities
Execute field-level project activities according to work plans, monitor progress against targets, identify challenges, and collect relevant data to contribute to effective project implementation and reporting.
Efficient execution of activities yields measurable progress towards project objectives and informs adaptive management
Identify and support opportunities for resilient focused on farm, rural enterprises and income-generating activities, particularly for women and youth, facilitating linkages to value chains and markets.
Thriving on farm and non-farm enterprises and strengthened value chains create diversified incomes and economic resilience.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with local leaders, community organizations, government partners, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and synergy in project implementation.
Strong partnerships ensure aligned efforts and long-term sustainability of project outcomes, and good partner relations support to project goals and implementation by key stakeholders.
Collect accurate field data, contribute to regular project reports and documentation of lessons learned, and actively participate in knowledge sharing and adaptive management processes.
Monthly, quarterly, semi and annual reports are produced and submitted to all bodies, accordingly evidence-based decision-making and wider scaling are enabled through systematic data collection and shared lessons.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
- Qualification required Rural development, Agroeconomics and related fields.
- Experience: 5 years experience on field level implementation of integrated program including Climate smart Agriculture, resilient rural livelihood, financial inclusion and Market Development in INGOs Context.
- Working experience in community led Resilient interventions, Economic Development, Nutrition and agriculture, climate smart agriculture and degraded land management.
