Job Summary

This consultancy provides an opportunity to contribute specialized expertise to Department of Global Communications’s mission in international cooperation and sustainable development. Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in web design or web development is required.
  • Academic Qualifications: First-level university degree is required.
  • Academic Qualifications: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
  • Academic Qualifications: Experience working on UN websites or websites of other international organizations is desirable..
  • Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
  • Language: For this position, fluency in spoken and written English is required.
  • Language: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is desirable.
  • Language: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat..
  • Take on additional assignments, including research and drafting for the website, as required by the Project Managers.

Skills

  • Design, implement and maintain the climate action and peace and security campaign websites, working together with Project Managers, UN Web Services and the digital campaigns unit.
  • Advise on organization, structure and layout of the websites, keeping in mind multilingualism (language pages will be handled in-house) and Drupal migration process.
  • Upload content on the English versions of the websites, including text, images and multimedia content.
  • Create new webpages, as necessary, and present layout options for new content.
  • Keep track of updates in English, for language units to replicate.
