Qualifications
- Academic Qualifications: Experience with using website content management systems
- Academic Qualifications: Experience in managing social media content and platforms.
- Academic Qualifications: Have a keen interest in environmental issues, with a particular focus on wildlife and/or nature conservation from an international perspective.
- Academic Qualifications: Have a keen interest in communications and the work of the United Nations and international relations
- Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
- Language: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
- Language: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
- Language: Knowledge of Portuguese is also an advantage..
Skills
- Assist in the production of a wide spectrum of communication and information management products and activities for CMS, AEWA, including supporting outreach activities of large international meetings such as the meetings of the governing bodies (e.g COP) and global campaigns.
- Generate communications content for the websites managed by the Unit by researching and drafting articles.
- Support the development of audio-visual and multimedia products (video clips, animations, graphics, podcasts) for publication on YouTube channels and promotion on social media.
- Assist in implementing the World Migratory Bird Day Campaign (www.worldmigratorybirdday.org). This will include assisting in the drafting of articles, maintaining website content, liaising with partners and event organisers, supporting event logistics, drafting social media content, generating reports and other tasks as needed.
- Support the day-to-day management of the social media channels managed by the Unit (X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram or Whatsapp).
- Support press/media-related work by conducting research, preparing documents, keeping track of media requests, drafting pitches to journalists and assisting in the maintenance of a targeted list of journalists, among other tasks.
- Support the maintenance of databases, filing and archiving activities.
- Perform any other tasks upon request.
