This consultancy provides an opportunity to contribute specialized expertise to Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia’s mission in international cooperation and sustainable development. Working in Lebanon, you will apply your professional skills to address complex challenges in international cooperation and sustainable development and support the organization’s programmatic objectives. Qualifications
- Academic Qualifications: A master’s degree in ICT or a related field is required; a Masters or Ph.D. is desirable.
- Academic Qualifications: All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree.
- Academic Qualifications: Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
- Academic Qualifications: At least 5 years of experience and research in Technology related issues is required.
- Academic Qualifications: A concrete knowledge in the domain of planning and strategies is desirable..
- Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA.
- Language: For this position, fluency in Arabic is required; Knowledge of English is desirable.
- Language: Note: Fluency equals a rating of fluent in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and Knowledge of equals a rating of confident in two of the four areas..
Skills
- Conducting a detailed analysis using the final NDDR as the primary evidence base;
- Translating identified national needs, priorities, and strengths into clear strategic directions;
- Developing a comprehensive and final NDDA that incorporates goals, baselines, indicators, and measurable targets aligned with the Arab Digital Agenda (ADA);
- Working closely with the Ministry team and the ESCWA team to ensure national ownership and alignment with sectoral plans and ongoing initiatives; Ensuring the NDDA is fully ready for national review, endorsement, and adoption.
