Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: Undergraduate degree (BA/BSC or other)
  • Academic Qualifications: Undergraduate degree (BA/BSc other) in business management, economics, development studies, business administration or related field
  • Academic Qualifications: Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree.
  • Academic Qualifications: A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in business management, project coordination, private sector operations, manufacturing/ agro-processing and exports, including knowledge of blue economy, agri-business and participatory approaches.
  • Academic Qualifications: Proven experience in Caribbean context and in the provision of projects/ initiatives.
  • Academic Qualifications: Good understanding and direct knowledge of the country Public Sector functioning and dynamics; Good understanding and direct knowledge of the agribusiness/ blue economy sector in the country
  • Academic Qualifications: Good understanding of international development project functioning and dynamics
  • Academic Qualifications: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Skills

  • Prepare written outputs, including reports and presentations on project objectives and activities for Sargassum Value chain development in Grenada, to be regularly updated for presenting to government, donor and private sector partners.
  • Provide coordination and technical support to the Taskforce and Working Groups (in particular Working Group 3 on Valorization & Working Group 4 on Community Development).
  • Participate in regular meetings of the EU-Grenada Sargassum Taskforce, Coordination meetings between EUD Barbados and ITC, and Coordination meetings with Key Regional Partners (EUD, Team Europe Partners, UN Agencies etc.) to provide updates on progress of implementation of project activities and ensure close coordination of interventions.
  • Coordinate with the EU Global Gateway efforts, including the Global Gateway Investment Agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean, together with private sector, investors, governments and donor partners.
  • Together with key partners and experts, support the process of operationalization, monitoring and evaluation of the Grenada Sargassum Valorisation Roadmap.
  • Together with key partners and experts, coordinate data collection and characterization of coastal communities (including fisherfolk, farmers and vendors) for the selection of target groups for capacity building and market linkages support, including development of questionnaire tool with key partners, survey administration and analysis.
  • Together with key partners and experts, support the assessment of value chain operator capacity gaps, priorities and needs; and product/market assessments for Sargassum products (e.g. fertilisers, cosmetics, food uses etc.)
  • Support the sensitization and engagement with communities and SMEs on Sargassum value chain development / valorisation.
  • Assist in developing and keeping track of the country-level work plan for activities, including proposed budget allocations, timelines and outputs, for validation by national level partners
  • Assist in developing work/ business/ capacity building plans for selected GNSTF Working groups, Companies/ social enterprises, and institutions outlining areas of support and calendar of activities, co-investment from companies, for validation by companies and support institutions and with inputs from A4A service centers (processing, marketing, investment etc.)
  • Together with key partners, support in the implementation of work plans for selected Working Groups, Companies and Support institutions, outlining areas of support and calendar of activities, including co-investment from companies, through regular follow-up.
  • Facilitate the activation and coordination commercial alliances and market linkages between value chain operators, for improved business transactions of value-added Sargassum products.
