Qualifications
- Academic Qualifications: At least a degree in law, international law or human rights.
- Academic Qualifications: Experience in international human rights and humanitarian law would be a strong asset.
- Academic Qualifications: A minimum of seven years of professional experience as a practicing lawyer (including teaching law or as a judge), legal consultant or advisor in human rights or anti-corruption matters.
- Academic Qualifications: A minimum of two years of professional experience in legislative/legal drafting is an asset.
- Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
- Language: For this consultancy, fluency in spoken and written English is required..
Skills
- The full description of each court is contained in the joint resolution and the executive orders.
- The proposed consultancy builds on the progress made by the OWECC-L and partners with the support and coordination of the OHCHR and other UN entities.
- It complements the ongoing work in drafting the substantive and procedural legislation for the courts, and full implementation of the OWECC-Ls mandate.
- Under the direct supervision of the OWECC-L, the consultant will therefore be stationed and work daily in the OWECC-L, on diverse issues, including follow-ups finalizing the Bills and collaborating with various actors to ensure their passage by the Legislature, and when approved by the President, publication in Handbills..
