Job Summary

This Programme Management Officer position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate critical programmes within Department of Safety and Security’s international cooperation and sustainable development portfolio. Based in United States, you will oversee programme implementation, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure the delivery of high-quality results that advance the organization’s strategic objectives. You will be responsible for programme planning, monitoring and evaluation, resource mobilization, and coordination with government partners, civil society, and other UN agencies. Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, management, law, humanities, social sciences or a related field.
  • Academic Qualifications: A first-level university degree in the specified fields of studies with two (2) additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree..

  • A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in international relations, international security, diplomacy, development, conflict resolution, law, humanitarian affairs, or related field, at least five of which must be at the international level is required.
  • Experience: Experience providing strategic advice and direct support to a senior UN or other public official in relation to international humanitarian, development, human rights, or peace and security programmes is required.
  • Experience: At least five years of management experience in the UN system or a comparable international organization including effective and inclusive management in a multi-cultural setting and of cross-functional teams is required.
