Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: An advanced university degree (Masters degree or equivalent) in architecture, construction or engineering or other related fields is required.
  • Academic Qualifications: A first-level university degree in the aforementioned fields in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying work experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree..
  • Academic Qualifications: A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in architecture, construction and engineering is required; Experience as an engineer in site inspection, technical drawings, and materials management is required; Previous relevant experience in Haiti is desirable; Use of relevant engineering software (i.e.
  • Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
  • Language: For this post, fluency in oral and written French is required.
  • Language: Knowledge of another United Nations language is an advantage.

Skills

  • Draft technical documents to prepare procurement process for the construction work related to PCCP control unit in Port au Prince. 2 Port au Prince
  • Assist the procurement team in preparing bid documentation, supporting the evaluation process and technically identifying the most suitable company. 3 Port au Prince
  • Monitor and support implementation on the ground to ensure works are executed in line with approved specifications, timelines and quality standards 4 Ouanaminthe and Cap Haitien
  • Review of all technical documents and contractors schedule.
  • Written comments on methodology, plans, risks, and mitigation measures.
  • Participation in the kick-off meeting.
  • Prepare documentation for the construction of office for the control unit in Port au Prince (at the airport). Provide technical support to the UNODC procurement process
  • Support Procurement process in monitoring construction work in Port au Prince 5 Ouanaminthe and Cap Haitien
  • Site monitoring reports after each field visit (you would need to specify the number of visits/intervals), including:
  • Progress against schedule
  • Verification of completed tasks
  • Photographic evidence
