Job Summary
This Programme Management Officer position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate critical programmes within United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat)’s sustainable urban development, housing rights, and urban planning portfolio. Based in Syria, you will oversee programme implementation, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure the delivery of high-quality results that advance the organization’s strategic objectives. You will be responsible for programme planning, monitoring and evaluation, resource mobilization, and coordination with government partners, civil society, and other UN agencies. This role is ideal for experienced professionals with strong leadership skills, programme management expertise, and a commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection.

Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (masters degree or equivalent) in architecture, urban planning, engineering, or social science is required. A first-level university degree (bachelors degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies in combination with two (2) years of additional qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.

- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management and urban recovery in post conflict setting is required. Experience in housing finance, urban planning and/or urban policy development is required. Experience in programme and project planning, analys is and budgeting are required. Experience working with the UN system or similar international organization is desirable. Two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
