Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Masters degree or equivalent degree) in economics or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For th is job opening, English is required. French is desirable. - A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in economic research and analys is, tax policy formulation, application of economic principles in development programmes or related area is required. Experience in international tax cooperation issues, including cross-border taxation, is required. Experience in at least one of the following areas tax treaties or transfer pricing is required. Experience in working on both tax policy design and practical implementation guidance is required. Experience with the work of the UN Committee of Experts on International Cooperation in Tax Matters is desirable. Experience drafting technical guidance documents, policy papers, and practical implementation tools for use by government officials or practitioners is desirable.
