Job Summary
The Senior Development Manager will lead fundraising efforts at Nationalities Service Center (NSC) in close partnership with the Executive Director. This role is responsible for setting annual development goals and strategies, managing donor relations, overseeing fundraising communications, and coordinating events. With an entrepreneurial approach, the Senior Development Manager will build on NSCs strong foundation to ensure the organization has the resources necessary to support newcomers as they build new lives in America.
The Senior Development Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and manages two full-time staff: a Donor Database Administrator and a Development & Communications Associate.
NSCs Development Department is on track to raise over $2.1M in unrestricted dollars from individuals, foundations, and special events in FY26, plus $2.5M in restricted grants and an ongoing resiliency campaign.

Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership
- Manage and support two members of NSCs fundraising team.
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Boards Development Committee.
- Communicate progress to the Executive Director and senior leadership team.
- Partner with the Executive Director to develop a comprehensive fundraising plan.
- Develop strategies to recruit, retain, and grow individual donors.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with institutional funders.
- Participate in Management Team meetings as requested.
Donor Relations
- Lead cultivation and stewardship efforts with mid-level donors ($500$5,000).
- Partner with the Executive Director to steward major donors ($5,000+).
- Set and achieve team-level goals for donor retention and gift growth.
- Maintain best-in-class recognition and gratitude practices.
- Develop strategies to expand NSCs donor community.
Event Management
- Lead quarterly community-based events to engage donors and expand networks.
- Manage fundraising and logistics for one major annual event (Global Tastes) in partnership with an event planning firm.
- Ensure timely follow-up after events to strengthen donor relationships.
Communications
- Produce a quarterly newsletter for NSCs donor community.
- Manage NSCs social media presence with campaigns focused on education and engagement.
- Oversee year-end fundraising efforts using print and digital channels.
- Develop a communications strategy to keep donors informed and engaged.
Qualifications
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Commitment to NSCs mission and belief in the value immigrants bring to communities.
- Experience in individual donor relations and grants management.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with fundraising CRM systems preferred.

Work Environment
This position operates in a hybrid office environment, requiring on-site work at least two days per week. The role involves sitting at a computer for extended periods and may occasionally require lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds for event setup. Some events may occur outside typical working hours; equivalent comp time is provided. Employment is contingent on a successful background check.

LOCATION AND HOURSThis is a full-time, in-person position based in our Philadelphia office with potential for hybrid work as team needs allow. Our regular hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and this position requires working occasional evenings and weekends.
