Job Description:English as a Second Language Instructor. Successful candidates will be able and willing to implement a task-based approach that helps prepare students to use English effectively in their daily lives.

Duration:11 weeks per cycle, 3 cycles per year

Instructional Hours:In-person from 6-8 PM on Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays

Location:Philadelphia PA

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree required. ESL certification or Master’s degree preferred.
• ESL teaching experience required. Knowledge of adult education theory and practice preferred.
• Basic computer literacy required. Knowledge of Google Suite preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction that is consistent and coordinated with the program to ensure that students meet and exceed learning targets.
• Develop and deliver lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategies.
• Differentiate and scaffold instruction to assist students in developing their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in the target language.
• Generate and administer assessments for the purpose of evaluating student progress.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of student attendance, student progress and evidence of growth.
• Provide a supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility and agency.

Salary:$30/hr (4 hours of instruction + 1 hour of paid prep time per week)
