About the Role

The Counterculture Museum is seeking a confident, friendly, and highly engaging part-time team member who loves interacting with people and isnt shy about talking to and with the public. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on connection, storytelling, and creating memorable experiences for visitors.

If you enjoy and can excel in greeting people with warmth, engaging passersby on the sidewalk, and making guests feel genuinely welcome, this role may be a great fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively greet and engage visitors both inside the museum and outside on the sidewalk
  • Invite passersby to step inside, learn about the museum, and explore the space
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests of all ages and backgrounds
  • Share basic information about exhibitions, events, and the museums mission
  • Process admissions and gift shop sales, and ensure high quality visitor experience
  • Help maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized environment
  • Assist with events and group visits as needed

Who Were Looking For

  • Experienced in customer service, hospitality, retail, or guest-facing roles
  • Comfortable initiating conversations with strangers
  • Friendly, outgoing, confident, and personable
  • Reliable and punctual with consistent availability
  • Enjoys being on their feet and engaging with the public
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Interested in culture, history, art, music, or social movements (a plus)
  • Museum and/or bookshop background (a plus)
