Job Title:Grant Manager

Reporting to:Chief Development Officer

Position Overview:

The Grant Manager is responsible for securing and managing funding from private foundations, corporations, and government sources to support JFCS’s mission and programs. As part of the development team, this role involves writing compelling grant proposals, preparing timely and accurate reports, and ensuring compliance with all grant requirements, including contracts and budgets.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and skilled at building relationships with funders, and cultivating relationships with key public-sector partners and stakeholders. The Grant Manager will also work cross-functionally within the organization to understand the impact of all our programs.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Development:

  • Research, prepare, and submit grant applications and proposals to institutional funders.
  • Collaborate with administration, program, and finance teams to gather data and develop strong proposals.
  • Identify and research new funding opportunities to expand the organizations portfolio, aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Support the development team by submitting event sponsorship proposals for major fundraising events.

Grant Reporting and Management:

  • Complete and submit reports for private foundation, corporate, and government funders.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with grant requirements, including budgets and contracts.
  • Collaborate with finance team to monitor grant budgets and ensure compliance with funder requirements.
  • Maintain a grants calendar to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Support Chief Development Officer in funder cultivation and stewardship.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in grant writing, proposal development, and reporting (24 years preferred; internships included).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and produce high-quality written materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with customer relationship management systems a plus (DonorPerfect preferred).

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary $68-78K, commensurate with experience
