Third Way is seeking an Executive Coordinator to directly help three members of Third Way’s management team to achieve the highest impact possible in their work by supporting them administratively, logistically, and with communications and social media, as well as supporting the entire Social Policy, Education & Politics and Economic teams with events, finalizing products, and coordinating efforts across the organization to get those products out into the world.

As the Executive Coordinator, a typical day might include…

  • Managing scheduling, meeting set-up, and meeting and calendar logistics for EVP and two SVPs, providing background research in preparation for meetings and events, and ensuring appropriate follow-up;
  • Coordinating travel arrangements including booking transportation and lodging and providing pre-travel logistical briefing materials, and preparing expense reports, timekeeping records and reimbursements;
  • Helping to draft and coordinate content for program social media handles and expand their reach by building and maintaining Twitter lists of journalists and influential people in specific policy areas, as well as tracking and documenting program-wide impact and press mentions;
  • Proofreading public documents, op-eds, and press releases before release;
  • Planning and executing the logistics of events on and off Capitol Hill, including by working directly with vendors;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $50,000 – $60,000, annually

WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU’LL…

  • Participate in Third Ways comprehensive onboarding program. Youll learn about all aspects of Business Operations, which includes HR, Benefits, IT, Finance, and office operations.
  • Meet your Third Way Buddy, be introduced to the entire staff, and start to learn the TWs culture.
  • Learn our current processes for payroll, compliance, and labor tracking, and how you will partner with Finance and the rest of the Business Operations team on these processes.
  • Participate in weekly one-on-ones with your manager to ensure you fully understand the expectations of the job.
  • Attend weekly team meetings. Youll learn about the key goals of each program, how theyre doing, what challenges they face, and how you will contribute.

WITHIN 2 MONTHS, YOU’LL…

  • Gain an understanding each employees role and their contribution to the organization.
  • Attend program overview sessions to learn more about each teams contribution to TWs mission.
  • Incorporate TWs Style Guide and Production process into your work products.
  • Participate in, at least, one of our internal Professional Development trainings or a Center for Fun activity.

WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU’LL…

  • Feel a sense of comfort and familiarity with the staff, your team, and your work.
  • Continue to attend weekly departmental meetings with a stronger understanding of your teams strategic goal.
  • Bring new ideas and suggestions to your weekly one-on-ones with your manager.
  • Attend and participate in external functions with other members of your team.
  • Complete your 90-day self-evaluation and performance review with your manager.
  • Partner with your manager to establish your long-term goals for the remainder of the year.
