Qualifications

• English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of Spanish is required. Knowledge of another UN official language would be an asset. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official language of the United Nations. NOTE: “Fluency” equals a rating of “fluent” in all areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and knowledge of equals a rating of “confident” in two of the four areas.
