About Renovation Alliance
Since 1999,Renovation Alliancehas been dedicated to rebuilding safe and healthy homes for neighbors in need in theRoanoke Valley area. Our mission is to mobilize community compassion and skilled labor to provide free, critical home repairs for homeowners living on limited incomes with a focus on older adults, individuals with disabilities, and single adult households with children. By coordinating volunteers and professional contractors, we transform nearly 100 homes annually to restore dignity and peace-of-mind, preserve existing affordable housing, create opportunities for neighbors to age-in-place, and revitalize communities.
The Role
TheExecutive Director (ED)serves as the visionary leader and primary face of the organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for the overall strategic direction, financial health, and operational success of Renovation Alliance. This includes leading fundraising efforts, managing a dedicated staff, and fostering deep community partnerships to expand our impact.
Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Leadership & Vision:Develop and implement a long-range strategic plan for the organization.
- Fundraising & Development:Spearhead diversified revenue streams, including grant writing, individual donor cultivation, and signature events like “Renovation Celebration”.
- Operations & Program Oversight:Effectively participate as one-third of RAs
- leadership triad (along with the Director of Operations and Director of Construction) to ensure operational excellence within RAs programs.
- Community Engagement & Communication:Serve as the chief spokesperson, building relationships with local governments, corporate sponsors, and faith-based organizations to recruit partners, increase awareness of RA and its mission, and secure funding.
- Financial Management:Oversee the annual budget and cultivate financial stability. Work alongside the Director of Operations to ensure rigorous financial reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

- Experience:Proven leadership in a nonprofit or business management role. Strongest candidates will bringmeaningful experience in business or for-profit leadership, demonstrating an ability to think strategically, manage operations, and drive results.
- Fundraising Track Record:A proven track record in fundraising, including cultivating donors, securing financial support, and stewarding long-term relationships.
- Board Experience:Direct experience working with nonprofit boards, either in reporting to a board as a senior leader or serving on one themselves, is required.
- Passion for Mission:A deep commitment to housing as a basic human right and a desire to serve vulnerable populations.
- Licensing:Valid drivers license is required for travel across the service area.

- Annual Salary:$55,000 $62,000.
