Pumpkin Hollow Retreat Center, located at 1184 County Route 11, Craryville, New York is seeking a Full

Time Maintenance and Grounds Manager. This position is responsible for all areas of maintenance and

reports to the Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be friendly, and knowledgeable

about maintenance and repair. They must commit to being a contributing community member and to

understanding the Pumpkin Hollow ethos of selfless-service.

discover and explore their inner path. In accordance with our principle of respect for all life, our

cuisine is vegetarian. This means no meat, fish, or fowl is allowed on the property. Also, alcohol and

recreational drugs are not allowed on the property.

Responsible for all areas of maintenance:

  • Have a willingness to work daily on building repair and upkeep. Trouble shoot mechanical

issues, provide guidance and oversight for larger projects conducted with volunteers or

subcontractors.

  • Applicant should be proficient in carpentry and use of power tools (required), have basic

plumbing skills and electrical awareness, maintain shop tools and grounds equipment.

  • Prepare a weekly work outline and report to the Operations Manager weekly on progress.
  • Conduct seasonal transitions between Cold season and Open season with staff and volunteers.
  • Oversee firewood supply.
  • Help prepare premises for programs.
  • Participate in after meal cleanup during program weekends.
  • Maintenance Handbook available as a guide.

Hours/Compensation:

This is a full time residential position that includes a taxable monthly stipend of $1,500. Benefits include: full room, board, utilities, internet, and laundry facilities.
