As a Vocational Skills Instructor, you will work directly with adults(18+) with developmental disabilities, supporting them as they develop real-world skills, explore their interests, and participate more fully in their communities. What Youll Do

  • Teachvocational and functional skillssuch as Microsoft Excel, basic website development, and executive functioning using a structured, supportive curriculum
  • Support participants throughhands-on group and one-on-one learning, adapting instruction to individual strengths and learning styles
  • Coach and accompany participants duringcommunity activities and volunteer experiences, helping them build independence, social skills, and confidence
  • Track progress through simple documentation, goal-setting, and periodic skill reviews
  • Foster awelcoming, respectful, and inclusive environmentthat encourages growth and self-advocacy
  • Collaborate with families, staff, and community partners to support participant success

What Were Looking For

Were looking for someone who is:

  • Patient, empathetic, and genuinely passionate about disability inclusion
  • Comfortable teaching, mentoring, or supporting adults in a learning environment
  • Organized and able to track progress in a simple, consistent way
  • Open to learningpaid training and curriculum are provided

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience in vocational education, special education, adult education, mentoring, or human services
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, websites, or app-based tools are a plus)

Logistics & Requirements

  • Schedule:Monday, Wednesday, Friday , 8:45 AM 3:15 PM. ( Note: the schedule is anticipated to move to a Monday – Friday hours in a few months)
  • Pay:$21/hour
  • Education:High School Diploma required; Bachelors preferred
  • Transportation:Valid drivers license and willingness to assist participants with public transportation and occasional driving for community activities
  • Work Authorization:Must be authorized to work in the U.S
