Director of Finance and Administration

Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia invites applications for the position ofDirector of Finance and Administration. This is a full-time, on-site position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
    • Five (5) years of progressive leadership/administrative responsibility.
    • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
    • Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Knowledge of budget preparation monitoring and implementation.
    • Ability to analyze problems, identify effective solutions, and take appropriate action using sound judgment and independent decision-making.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Knowledge of federal and state laws, policies and procedures related to college operations and financial administration.
    • CPA preferred but not immediately required.
    • Experience in Human Resource Management
    • Knowledge of and experience with public or higher education financial systems.
    • Proficient in software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, TEAMs, and Great Plains Dynamics.

Job Duties:

    • Reports to the President and serves as the Colleges principal financial officer and Board-appointed Treasurer, overseeing all aspects of the Colleges financial and fiscal management
    • Partners with the Executive VP on long-term strategy and annual financial planning.
    • Focuses on improving and supporting the student experience through effective financial leadership
    • Provides strategic financial insight and leadership directing all financial and administrative operations, including:
    • Accounting and finance
    • Strategic planning for capital improvements and long-range financial health
    • Budgeting
    • Human resources, payroll and risk management
  • Maintains compliance with audit standards, internal controls, and state/federal regulations.
  • Advises on policy updates and manage external vendor relationships to support financial objectives.
  • Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends
