Role Overview
MassBioEd is seeking an experienced instructor to design and deliver anIntro to AI for Biotechcourse for life sciences companies and employees. This engagement could involvemultiple in-person training sessionsdelivered to small groups of employees across several training days as well as the delivery of live online or hybrid courses to employees from multiple companies. In person instruction will be based in Massachusetts.
This is a highly applied, workforce-focused training not an academic lecture. We are specifically seeking instructors withdirect biotech / life sciences industry experiencewho can translate artificial intelligence concepts into practical, relevant use cases for biotech professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver an engagingIntroductory AI course tailored to biotech / life sciences audiences
- Facilitate interactive, discussion-driven in-person and live online sessions
- Adapt examples and explanations to varying levels of AI familiarity
- Deliver multiple sessions of the course to different employee groups
- Collaborate with MassBioEd on course structure, flow, and learning objectives
- Incorporate practical, real-world biotech applications of AI where appropriate
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience in thebiotech, life sciences, or biopharma industry
- Strong working knowledge ofartificial intelligence concepts and applications
- Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences
- Prior course design experience for both in-person and online delivery
- Prior teaching, facilitation, or professional training experience
- Comfort leading interactive, in-person group sessions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying AI / data / computational tools within life sciences contexts
- Experience delivering corporate or workforce training
- Background bridging technical and business/scientific audiences
- Familiarity with common biotech functions (R&D, operations, regulatory, etc.)
Course Proposal Requirement (Important)
As part of the application process, candidates must submit abrief course proposaloutlining their approach to the training.
Proposals should include:
- High-level course description
- Key topics or modules
- Intended learning objectives
- Example biotech-relevant applications or exercises
- Instructional approach (interactive elements, activities, etc.)
This is not intended to be burdensome a concise outline is sufficient.
