Studio Preparatory is seeking teachers for grades 3-12th grade in the following areas:

  • Middle school English Language Arts
  • 3/4th grade English Language Arts
  • Upper Elementary Science
  • Conceptual Math Teacher
    • 3/4th grade math
    • 5th grade math
    • 6th grade math
    • Algebra 1
    • Geometry

Required experience and skills:

  • Must agree to the tenets of the Nicene creed
  • Must have a degree (or related experience ) in the subject being taught
  • For math:A conceptual understanding of math that goes beyond memorization and following algorithms
  • The ability to design age-appropriate learning experiences that are responsive to the needs, backgrounds, and learning styles of a diverse student population
  • Experience working with students
  • Comfortable working with an ecumencial staff
  • Comfortable working with students and families from a variety of spiritual backgrounds, but mostly Christian
  • A humble posture which leads to listening to others with curiosity and taking ownership of your mistakes
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time well
  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively in a team environment, fostering open communication, sharing ideas, and supporting colleagues
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
  • A heart’s posture that prioritizes care and connection over following rules or being right
  • A genuine love for people
  • A Growth-mindset
  • Skillful in determining work priorities and managing multiple tasks
  • A strong belief in childrens ability to learn and grow
  • Homeschooling experience is welcomed

Working conditions:

  • Classes meet for 32 weeks; From Aug 26th – May 16th.
  • School events: Back to Studio Night in August; End of Year Ceremony in May; optional Exhibition attendances and Parent meetings
  • School Breaks: Studio Prep observes regular breaks in the fall, winter, and spring. Specific dates are provided in the school calendar.
  • Pre-year staff training in late May and early August
  • Workdays in the studio leading up to the start of the school year (some flexibility built in)
  • 1 hour Weekly online staff meetings during the academic year
  • Subject team meetings 4-6 times a year
  • Staff Silence: A designated summer period for rest and unplugging from work. Staff are free to use this time however they choose
  • Informal summer meetups with colleagues for collaboration and connection
  • In person requirement:2-3 /hrs week of class time on Tues- Thurs for each class(depending on the class)plus3-4hrs/week of out of class lesson planning and grading (location flexible)
