Qualifications

  • Advanced university degree (Masters degree or equivalent) in economics or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For th is job opening, English and Spanish are required. Portuguese is desirable.   • A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in economic research and analys is, policy formulation, application of economic principles in development programmes or related area is required. Experience in the analys is and formulation of macroeconomic policies, with a focus on labour policies, economic activity, and external accounts is required. Experience in the design and management of technical cooperation projects is required. Experience in the elaboration and coordination of institutional flagships is required. Demonstrated professional experience in or focused on Latin America and the Caribbean is required. Experience in macroeconomic analys is at international organizations, government, private sector, or academia is desirable. Two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
