Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in economics or finance. A first-level university degree in combination with 2 additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

- A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in macroeconomics/development economics and/or socioeconomic strategy processes, including inequalities and gender issues in development country contexts is required. In-depth knowledge and experience in policy making in complex and challenging development settings is required. Substantial experience in macroeconomic policy including monetary and fiscal policies, poverty reduction strategies, inclusive growth, structural transformation and sustainable development issues including the SDGs is required. Demonstrated ability in resource mobilization and proven capacity to develop policy and impactful programme strategic interventions is required. Experience in post-conflict contexts; demonstrated political acumen in complex settings characterized by de facto authority rule and application of international sanctions is desirable. Prior work experience in Afghanistan such as in banking and private sector development is desirable.
