The Iowa Paralyzed Veterans of America (IPVA)is a non-profit organization and is one of 33 chapters which represent our national organization, Paralyzed Veterans of America. Our membership is free and consists of veterans of the United States Armed Forces who have suffered a spinal cord injury or received a diagnosis of disease affecting the spinal cord. IPVA relies solely on private donations and receives no governmental funding.

Job Details:

Full-time (Office hours are 8:00 4:30, Monday-Friday plus special events)

This is not a work-from-home position.

Job Description:

The Executive Director reports to the President of the Board of Directors of the Iowa Paralyzed Veterans of America and holds responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the non-profit. The Executive Director will provide guidance and direction to the President and Board of Directors in shaping the future of the organization through vision, values, leadership, and strategy.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a management or leadership role.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors strongly preferred.
  • Experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, or related fields preferred.

Knowledge & Professional Skills

Working knowledge of nonprofit financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, fundraising, and grant administration.
